About Me

My name is Sara. I was born in 1986 in a small town called Greensburg in Indiana. My parents divorced when I was 5, and my dad has raised me by himself. He's been in bands all my life, and since my mom can also sing, this is basically where my singing voice naturally came from. Growing up, I was very much a tomboy, never caring about anything except sports and my precious books. I started doing musicals in fourth grade and once my choir teachers discovered that I could sing, they started putting me in vocal contests even when technically the school didn't start us that early. Going into high school, more of the same continued except now I also joined the school's show choir and got involved in activities like cheerleading, French club, booster council, and prom committees. My vocals flourished under the special attention that show choir presented, eventually moving up from an alto to a second soprano. As I finally graduated and moved to Muncie to attend Ball State University, I made the crazy decision to major in fashion design. My dad wasn't too thrilled that I wanted such a strange (yet fascinating!) career, but I didn't care. This was the one time in my whole life that I didn't do something just because I wanted to please my dad and make him proud. You see, I have always had a fascination with the glittery lights of Hollywood since puberty and wanted to eventually become a celebrity stylist if the musician thing didn't work (and let's face it. Except for the lucky few, it never does!). Now, six years after my high school graduation and feeling the sting of a neglected dream, I'm finally taking steps toward that fantasy. Follow me on the long journey!
